Symposium Committee

Symposium Chair (located in Houston)

Symposium Vice Chair (located in Dallas)

  • Duties:
    • Develop continuing education programming including program content, speakers, learning objectives, promotional materials, and symposium program booklets
    • Coordinate the facilities and catering for the symposium
    • Coordinate continuing education (CE) credit from the various disciplines CE boards and develop certificates of completion for each discipline
    • Seek vendor sponsorship and coordinate vendor activities throughout the symposium
    • Solicit and coordinate student volunteers to work the registration booth

Programs Committee

Houston Programs Coordinator

Austin Programs Coordinator

  • Duties:
    • Organize regularly occurring chapter meetings
      • Provide educational lectures on pertinent critical care topics
      • Promote networking opportunities

Communications Committee

Newsletter Coordinator

  • Duties:
    • Develop the chapter’s quarterly newsletter, “Critical Care Corner”

Dallas-Ft. Worth Communications Coordinator

  • Duties:
    • Work with programs committee coordinator to organize communications about local events
    • Create attendance sheet for local programs to use for each event
    • Attend SCCM Texas Chapter educational meetings
    • Average Time Commitment: 3-6 hours/month

Awards Committee

Awards Committee Members
  • Duties:
    • Create speaker certificates for Symposium
    • Multidisciplinary committee review for award nominations
    • Create appreciation and BOD certificates
    • Average time commitment: 3 hours/month during peak seasons (symposium, chapter awards); 1 hour/month (Zoom meetings or conference calls)
