Excellence in Service (3 categories)
This recognition will be awarded to chapter members for their notable contributions to critically ill and injured patients. One award will be distributed for each of the following three sub-categories: Education, Clinical Practice and Research/Quality Improvement*.
Nominees must demonstrate the following:
- Membership in The Society of Critical Care Medicine AND the SCCM Texas Chapter
- Recent involvement in Chapter activities (i.e. meeting attendance, networking, committee involvement, and/or speaker participation)
- Distinctive accomplishments/initiatives pertaining to the nominated sub-category such as
- Education: preceptorship and mentorship, residency program involvement, lecturer for tertiary education and/or state and national organizations, etc.
- Clinical Practice: advanced training (i.e. residency, board certifications), contributions to protocols, clinical research work, participation in patient care focused committees, etc.
- Research/Quality: peer-reviewed publications or journal reviewer, grant funding, medication safety work, etc.
*An individual may only be nominated for one category

Casey M. Drawert, MD Excellence in Leadership
This recognition will be awarded to one member for their leadership commitment and initiative within the chapter over the past year. There is no application process, the winner will be selected via nomination and formal vote by the Executive Committee.
Nominees must demonstrate the following:
- Membership in The Society of Critical Care Medicine AND the SCCM Texas Chapter*
- Active participation in chapter activities (committees, symposium planning, speaker participation, networking events, etc.)
- Volunteers for additional responsibilities/opportunities to direct chapter programs
*Members of the Executive Committee are not eligible for this award
